Third Reich Volkssturm Arm Band – Item 99174

Full length cotton printed Volkssturm arm band. As issued to the German Home Guard set up to defend Germany towards the end of WWII. This cheaply produced cotton arm band could be worn over civilian clothing to show a member of the newly formed peoples army. Good condition uniform removed example.

Note:  The Volkssturm comprised one of the final components of the total war promulgated by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, part of a Nazi endeavour to overcome their enemies’ military strength through force of will.
