Third Reich Autograph of Highly Decorated SS Leader – Item 79904

Third Reich Letter Signed by Waffen SS Knights Cross Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds Winner SS Obergruppen Fuhrer Herbert Otto Gille. Gille was commander of SS Division Viking and participated in operation Barbarossa in 1941 and the advance to Kuban. He was awarded the Knights Cross to the Iron Cross in 1942. The letter is dated 1944 and was sent to a member of the Hitler Youth and would probably have been accompanied with a photo of Gille. Clear signature to bottom of letter. Photo with this autograph is later re-print example.

Note: Herbert Otto Gille was the most highly decorated member of the SS during WWII. He surrendered at the end of the War to US forces in Austria and was kept prisoner and released in 1948.
