Oil on Board Painting from the German Embassy Sale of 1945 – Item 91888
Interesting and unique painting of Adolf Hitler Plaza Nuremberg. The Schoner Brunnen Fountain erected in the year 1390. Originally hung in the German Embassy here in London and sold off by the British Government on 10.12.1945. It was one of a set of eight paintings that were displayed in the Embassy. Interesting with framers label to reverse marked Trowitzsch & Sohn Berlin W9 Hermann Goring Strasse 2.3. Complete with its original hanging chain and small description to reverse. Interesting to note that the Town Hall in the background of this painting was where in 1945 the Nuremberg Trials were held. Measures 46 x 37cm approx.
