5th Manchester Pals Battalion Battle of the Somme casualty pair and plaque. British War & Victory medals named to 18284 Pte J B Sibbles, Manchester Regiment. Comes complete with memorial plaque named to James Bertram Sibbles. Medals in good condition with original ribbons and death penny has much of its original bronzed finish.

The Battalion was involved in the attack on Marmetz and Sibbles was reported missing on 3 September 1916 when the Battalion attacked Ginchy. James Bertram Sibbles is remembered on the Thiepval memorial
