British Ardennes Campaign Log/Photo Album – Item 95259
Super log/photo album compiled by a British Army Officer. Starts in the Ardennes in 1944 and is a record of his campaign through to Germany. Has souvenirs picked up along the way and photos. A snap shot taking in Venlo Holland (Dutch German border) sign. Stating not to fraternise with Germans. Gives vivid descriptions of his journey and includes pictures picked up at the time and removed from an Adolf Hitler album. Carrying on into Germany and marked 31.3.45 (VE day). Again with photos of German troops and various currencies picked up along the way. Luftwaffe and Army christmas cards. Photo of Hitler and Goebbels together and a notation “these men who were largely responsible for it all”. Official newspaper to back of album giving details of the victory and on the final page he gives a summary of the end of hostilities and the sentences handed out to the various conspirators . A most interesting account of WWII documented throughout.
