Commando Pancake Flipper OSS Knife – Item 110706

Scarce OSS Pancake Flipper Fairbairn Sykes style stiletto knife. Retains most of its original blued finish to handle and cross guard. Stone mint blade retaining all its original bluing. Complete with its leather and steel Pancake flipper scabbard. Still with original rubber band attached (often missing on most examples). Blade measures 17 cm in length. Overall length 31.5 cm. As used by OSS and British Commando Units.  A pristine example.

According to OSS records held by the US National Archives, in January 1943 1000 of the knives now commonly known as the OSS Stiletto were delivered to the British Ministry of Supply Commission in New York.
