Third Reich Russian Front Campaign Medal & Packet of Issue – Item 110273

Third Reich Russian Front winter campaign medal. Complete with its correct full length ribbon. Medal retains all its original blued finish. Comes complete with its often missing paper packet of issue. Commonly known amongst troops as the frozen flesh medal. The medal design was submitted by SS Unterscharfuhrer Ernst Kraus.  Hitler instituted the medal on 26 May 1942. Awarded for a minimum of 2 weeks in combat.  Excellent condition example.
