Third Reich Named General Hoth Great Coat – Item 105102

Third Reich Generals Great Coat and formerly coat of Generalleutnant Hermann Hoth.  Coat is in used condition and has some minor mothing to back of collar and lower front.  However, overall in good sound condition. Red faced lapels with gilt buttons and heavy gold bullion shoulder straps. Private purchase heavy black wool blanket lining for extra cold conditions. Named inside and dated 1939. Hoth was a Knights Cross Oakleaves and Swords winner.

Hoth  during the Western Offensive drove through the Ardennes to the Channel before entering Normandy. His success resulted in being promoted to General on 19.7.1940. Hoth was head of Panzer Group 3 during Operation Barbarossa. He also captured Minsk and Vitebsk before heading for Moscow in October 1941.  In 1942 Hoff succeeded Eric Hoepner as head of 4th Panzer Army and was involved in the siege of Stalingrad. After the war Hoff was arrested and charged with war crimes at Nuremberg. Found gilt he was sentenced on 27.10.1948 to 15 years in prison. He died in 1971.
