Third Reich Police Officer Document & Soldbuch Grouping – Item 111826

Interesting Third Reich German Police grouping. Consisting of his Police Service Book, Police Soldbuch, ID Pass an Citation for black wound badge. Awarded on 20.4.1945. Rank certificate and Police Registration Form. Interesting Allied Control stamp for Hannover 1945.

Josef Cyzs was a career Police Officer and joined in 1923. In 1936 he served in various departments of the Berlin Police Fore and was later posted to German province of Upper Silesia (now in Poland). He was awarded the Olympic Commemorative medal for hi service in the 1936 games and also received the Police Long Service Decoration and also held the Military sports badge in bronze. On his Soldbuch entries show him hospitalised and receiving treatment for a wound from grenade splinters on 31.3.1945- 31.5.1945. He was awarded the black wound badge from this hospital and date of wounded 25.4.1945. On 5 July 1945 he was posted by the Police Admin to Hannover now under allied control. t this time the allied authorities were keen to recruit experienced Policemen to so as to release allied servicemen and return law and order. An interesting grouping to a Police Officer wounded and saw action in the last stages of WWII.
