Third Reich Gausieger Award Citations for 1937, 38 and 39 – Item 92509
Set of three Third Reich presentation award citations awarded to Otto Baumer for the Gausieger Award Badges. The first citation in its green leatherette folder for 1937 opens with large HJ eagle and swastika, portrait of Hitler to inside cover and signed by Baldur von Schirach. The second in its cream coloured folder with large embossed 1938 Gausieger HJ award to front cover. Inside named to Otto Baumer and date 1938 with portrait of Hitler and again signed by the head of the HJ. Third citation again with cream coloured cover embossed with Gausieger and 1939 to front and named to Baumer. Again with Hitler portrait and signature of head of HJ. With this grouping is a letter from the German Labour Front dated 23.5.1939 acknowledging awards and sending congratulations. All in excellent condition.
Note: In 1934 Robert Ley, as head of the German Labour Front, organised the first National Trade Competition which became an annual event each spring. The competition was held by the German Labour front and the main office of the Hitler Youth. Those eligible to entre were male workers between the ages of 15-18 years. All entrants had to be members of the Hitler Youth, BDM or Labour front to be entitled for the award.
