Third Reich Balkan Arm Shield – Item 108668

In January 1945 a shield was awarded for forces who were engaged with holding the Red Army back and fighting the partisans in the Balkan region. Designed by Benno Von Arent. Stamped brass example. There is mixed opinion as to whether this shield was ever actually issued. This particular example shows age and has signs  of where pins have been broken off or removed.  Measures approx. 5.5 x 7cm. An interesting controversial piece. This one appears to be old brass?  Sold as a collectors space filler.
