British Naval Medal Group of 4 – KIA – Item 92247

Emotive collection of 4 Medals. Consisting of 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star and War Medal. All complete with ribbons. Good overall condition. Plus its original Admiralty Complement slip awarding the medals to Able Seaman Frank Albert Tingley. Tingley served on HMS Capel and died at the age of 21 on 26.12.1944.  On the 26 December 1944 HMS Capel was torpedoed and sunk north east of Cherbourg France by German submarine U486. 76 members of the crew went down with the ship. Able Seaman Tingley being one who perished.
